Great American Seafood Cook Off

If you enjoy wonderful seafood, you just may want to check into the www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com website. There you will find some great seafood recipes using all different types of fish and shrimp. This seafood cook off is held in Louisiana where chef's come and bring their own recipes for delicious seafood fun. I visited the website and checked out the top 5 seafood recipes and great chefs. These dishes had to include two mystery ingredients, either Southwest Airline Peanuts or a brew from Michelob Brewing Co. They also had to be easy and simple with a healthy flare to it. Along with that the recipe also had to include all five of the food groups and be easily prepared by any home chef. When looking, I found it easy to choose which of the recipes I would like to give a try. The Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet sounds wonderful. It comes from the state of Louisiana, by Chef Brian Landry. With shrimp being a favorite in my house, the added ingredients, I feel, make it a hit. I think it might be fun to also add angle hair pasta to this great seafood dish. I think that domestic seafood is a plus when cooking. It gives that fresh and local taste that most people enjoy. You can know the waters it comes from, how they've been fed and the freshness of the seafood. Check out this website and choose and or vote for your favorite! You may be the winner of a trip to New Orleans prize package!
