We sure do enjoy traveling. With the long winters we have here in the Midwest, we often need a southern retreat. I'm usually looking for a destination with a beach. It's so wonderful to soak up that warmth and sunshine.

A year a half ago my husband and I became grandparents. It is so wonderful. We have been in and out of baby stores ever since. Now we are working on the play room for the children and have found some great books. Our grandson and granddaughter love reading books. Even as young as they are, they will sit and listen and look at all of the colorful pictures. We enjoy spending time with them.

Twin Sister

My twin sister and her family recently took a trip to Memphis Tenn. They enjoyed touring Graceland and seeing many of the Elvis items. It looked like they had a great time! I think we'll have to take that trip sometime.

Daddy's Little Girl

Our grand daughter sure loves her daddy! If she thinks he is leaving she follows behind and starts to whimper. She says, "daddy work". :( They had the opportunity to go to the pool this past weekend and our daughter caught this wonderful shot of the two of them. She had just finish hugging her dad and was patting his back. It's so sweet.

Philly, NYC and DC

We had such a wonderful trip recently! We traveled out to Philly where we stayed for 9 days. We took the train up to NYC and went on a 6 hr tour of the city. We have never been there before. There is so much to see. It was great fun! Then we spent days in Philly seeing the sites and attending my son Josh's graduation from Drexel University with his Masters! We then drove down to Washington DC for a couple of days. We saw so much there also. We happened to be there on the day that they had the Holocaust Museum shooting. What a terrible thing. Over all it was a wonderful trip for us all!

Time With Emry

We're really enjoying our time with family. It had been a while since we had seen our little grandson Emry. He's such a sweetie....so full of life and easy going. I have sure enjoyed having this week to spend with him. I wasn't sure if he'd come to us right away since it had been a while, but he was more than willing to go right to Grampa and Grammy! In just a couple of weeks they will be moving to Iowa which means they are only a short distance from us then. I am SO excited. How wonderful it will be to have all of my kids near us.

4 Month Dr Appointment

Our daughter called yesterday and told us she had a dr appointment yesterday. She is expecting her second baby and this was her 4 month check up. She said it was a really quick one and they just wanted to listen the babies heart rate and see if she had any questions. Everything was great and the babies heart rate was very strong. Next time they go they will have their 20 week ultrasound...she's very excited about that! I am too....I love seeing those little babies on ultrasound pics.

Eventful Day

Wow...today was quite the eventful day. We decided it would be fun to spend a couple of days in Washington D.C. and headed in on the train early afternoon. Just before we arrived I received a call from my daughter informing me of a shooting that took place at the Holocaust museum. By now I'm sure everyone has heard of the incident....it was very scary! By the time we got there the museum was closed down and there were news crews and policemen everywhere! It was really weird to be there during this event and I'm glad we hadn't arrived any sooner. It's so sad that someone has the desire to harm people who are just educating themselves on history. We still had a great day though and had the chance to visit many great places.

Graduating with a Masters

I can't believe we only have a couple of days left of our vacation. Why do they have to go by so quickly?! We've had a wonderful time visiting family and having the opportunity to visit so many new places. The main reason we are here though...is because our son Josh graduates with his master's on Saturday. We're very proud of him and can't wait to watch him walk across that stage. I hope he has a fantastic day and realizes what an accomplishment this is! Way to go Josh!!!

Paintballing On Vacation

Vacation is such a fun time. We've had so much fun visiting new places and of course spending time with family. The guys have always enjoyed paintballing and would love to find a place to do that while we're here. I'm not sure if we'll have time, but for fun I went looking for paintball gear and came across ZephyrPaintball.com. Luggage

In preparing for a trip I find there to be so many details. Once I have packed up all that I want to take along, I then need to decide which type of luggage we should use. A garment bag is sure handy and seems to keep our clothes nice and neat. But, I am finding that you just can't seem to pack as much into a garment bag. Our huge regular suit case seems to hold so much more. Now we have to make sure it's not over weight or the airlines will charge a hefty over weight fee. It's always something.
