Sweet Aliyah

Our newest grand daughter.  She is so amazingly sweet!  We are so blessed.  Miss her.  So excited to see her next week!

Tired Dog

We were gone for a few days recently and had our dog with us.  She is a very good traveler.  She was so very tired when we got home.  It wasn't like she was busy while we were gone.   She didn't take walks or run around.  I think it was just the idea of being somewhere besides home.  She slept and slept.

Our youngest son loves the guitar.  Growing up he decided to teach himself to play.  He learned and then began to purchase an assortment of guitars.  The kramer bass at Guitar Center would probably be a favorite.  We had multiple amps, guitars, picks you name it in our home.  I'm glad he enjoys it so much.

Christmas Lights

Most of our Christmas lights are up.  Tonight we hung the lights outside.  I am glad to have that job done.  Plus, it has gotten quite cold.  We won't use the lights very much until after Thanksgiving.  It is nice to get the Christmas tree up and decorating done.  Many nights I enjoy just sitting on the couch and enjoying it all.

Cold Weather

In parts of the country it has already been very cold.  It has even snowed!  I prefer mild temperatures. Someone just today mentioned that they are looking forward to snow.  Yuck..  They can have the snow.  I have seen and been around snow so I guess I have had my fill.  For those who love the snow, I am happy for them.  For me though, mild weather is much better.

Good Ideas

Have you ever had a great idea come to your mind only to put it off long enough for someone else to go ahead with the idea and make money?  There are so many good ideas.  People make lots of money just selling their ideas.  A friend of ours works for car dealership as a mechanic.  He had a great idea and had gone as far as getting some money from others to start making a prototype of something that most RV owners would love to have.  As time went by our friend find out that there was already a similar item on the market.  He was pretty bummed but has since had some other great ideas.  I would encourage people to put on their thinking caps and come up with some great ideas.  Someone has to, right?

GPS

We own a GPS but rarely use it since our phones work just as well.  Some of the new GPS units have voice activation which would be very cool.  Our unit doesn't have that feature but it is new enough to have some other 'bells and whistles'.  I remember our first GPS cost almost $200.  Now you can buy a decent one for about $100 and have free map upgrades for life.  Times have really changed as well as technology.

Another Year Older

As we get older birthdays become less important for many people.  There comes a time when many just consider a birthday as a day like any other.  There are those, however, who will forever love their birthday.  Whether they spend it with friends, family or just doing something they enjoy, they are excited for their day to arrive.  I am at a point where I enjoy seeing the excitement on the faces of our kids and grand kids more than enjoying my own birthday.

Nice Rain

We finally got a nice rain the other night.  It was wonderful to see the rain.  Our yard had been so dry.  My husband works hard on the yard and I am hopeful that the rain really helps our grass.  We put seed down early this spring.  In areas around us within 20 miles there has been a big contrast in rain amounts.  We hadn't really had much at all until about a week ago.  I am thankful for the rain.

TC Electronic Bass

Grammy's Beautiful Butterflies

Oh how the time flies.  Our oldest grandchildren are already 5 yrs old.  We decided to take them to the Zoo.  We had the best time!  They loved getting to spend time together also.  Between face painting, camel rides, all of the animals and a train ride, they were ready to chill awhile.  Children do have a lot of energy however.  :)

Picnic

Yesterday I joined my daughter and three of my grandchildren on a picnic.  We met in a local park and had lunch and enjoyed the park's equipment.  It was a blast.  The youngest fell asleep while the rest of us enjoyed playing outside.  What a perfect way to spend a sunny day!  I know the kids are already planning the next picnic.  They were so excited.  Another fun day will include going to the pool.

New Recipe!

My daughter recently gave me a new recipe for Chicken and Wild Rice Soup!  It is one of the most flavorful soups I have had.  After sitting over night it tends to thicken, but is great as a thicker noodle casserole. Love it!

Flexible Metal Hose

Well another Christmas has passed.  It's such a busy time and then when the day finally gets here, it is gone for another year.  Our family is growing quickly.  With that comes a lot of shopping at that time of year especially.  :)  I was hunting for a great watch for my oldest son.  I now see that there are TAG Heuer watches.  They are beautiful.  I love shopping!

Great Weather

We have been having great weather lately.  I don't mind warmer weather in the winter time.  Shoveling is not my cup of tea.  I am so glad it's January and not early Fall.  I think it's downhill toward Spring now.  Yeah.  that is fine by me.  I am already looking forward to the green grass and the smells of summer.  I can see it now.  I know many people love the cold and snow but not this girl.  To each their own I guess. 

Outside Lights

This year we didn't hang many outside lights during Christmas.  I used to like all the lights but actually enjoyed having a more simple look without so many lights.  That made my husband happy too since it's up to him to hang them.  There may be a time when we put more lights up outside but for the next few years I think we will keep it simple.
