Through out the years of raising our three children, we found a variety of challenges. Each one is quite individual. They have their own needs, wants and dreams. In the adolescent years we sought out treatment for acne. Although our children didn't have a serious concern in this area, we did deal with the issue at some degree. We were gone recently and as we flew across the country I noticed many golf courses. In some large cities alone I am sure I counted 8 to 10 of them. My husband would love to live in an area with that many courses to choose from. I personally don't mind golfing but it isn't my favorite thing to do.

Recently I saw some prices on new cars. Wow, what sticker shock. Advertisements make new cars sound like they are cheap. They may say, only $27,500 for a new car. That sounds more like a house price. Ok, maybe it has been a few years since homes were that price but come on, I am not paying that much for something that is going to depreciate. I saw another one that advertised a new car for $399.00 a month for 37 months. Then of course you had to pay over $2,000 at the time of signing. That seems terrible. What do you think ?

Over the years I have tried different types of vitamins. It seems as we age our needs are different then when we were younger. I know that with calcium supplements we can promote good bone health. I am one that has difficulties finding that correct calcium supplement for me personally. Our bodies are all different and what they will accept. About five years ago I went through a very stressful time in my life. I was having a lot of migraines and had a lot going on in my personal life. I began to lose my hair. Rainy Night?

The weather report is saying we are to get some rain tonight. There is a good chance throughout tomorrow too. It has been quite dry so I don't think rain would be a bad thing. My husband wants to get some golfing in sometime this week. I am not sure if that will happen now or not. However, he has golfed in the rain before. Rain or shine!

Football Fans

We have some friends that are football fans. In fact, if you can be more than fans that is what they are. Extreme would be putting it mildly. I don't know where they get it either because they weren't into athletics in school. I guess they just grew up and took a liking to football. There are probably worse things.

Big Storm

Last night we were in a theater when the power went out. It was only for a short time but the movie went black. While we sat in silence we could hear the thunder outside. The storm was over by the time we got out of the show. There were water puddles all over outside. It must have rained very hard.

Golfing has become a huge pastime for many people. I watched a television program that said even in other countries where golf wasn't popular people have started the game. Unfortunately it has also become quite an expensive sport. In some countries it is so expensive that only the very rich can afford it. Golf is very fun for our family and it has been worth the expense.

New Grill

Recently the kids bought Bill a new gas grill. It is wonderful! This one is much bigger than our old one and looks so much better. I am sure we could put at least 40-50 burgers on it. We have already used it a lot. The stainless exterior is much nicer and easy to clean up. We love it.

iPod Touch

I am sure you know what an iPod Touch is. We bought one a few months ago and now there is a newer model on the market. The new one has a camera on each side so you can video conference with others. There are many other options with the new one too. Maybe we will have to buy a new one and sell the other.

Big Brother

Have any of you been watching Big Brother this summer? We have and it's getting down to the final weeks now. Who of the brigade will win the big money? Brittany seemed shocked to find out about the bond these three man had all along. Now we'll see just who sticks together until the end. We'll have to tune in tonight to see what happens.

Brotherly bonding at the movies

My brother and I are two very different people. We don't have a lot in common, so it's tough for us to spend a lot of quality time together. Pretty much the only thing we both like doing is going to the movies. We try to be sure to catch a movie together once or twice a month. It's a great way for us to keep in touch.

He usually comes to pick me up. He's always early, and I'm always running late: one of the many ways we are the opposite. He's pretty patient though, and once I find my keys and set my boston Adt security systems, we head down to our local cinema. It's just down the street from my apartment, so that's convenient.

Considering how different we are in so many ways, it's pretty amazing that we have such similar tastes in movies. We tend to like the big, epic kind of movies that are best seen in theatres with a big screen and a great sound system. We saw all of the "Lord of the Rings" films several times together.

Afterwards, we like to go grab some dinner together, and the movie we just saw always gives us plenty to talk about. It's also a good time to catch up on our personal lives. The movies have really brought us together.

Let The Games Begin

It is that time of year. Baseball is nearly over and football has begun. Our household isn't a wild place during sports seasons for the most part. My husband will watch some games but if he misses some, that is ok with him. He does enjoy golfing and for some reason he loves to watch golf on television too. I don't mind playing golf from time to time but there is no way I can sit and watch it.

Jobs in health care

There are many looking for employment these days. With the loss of jobs and the economy unstable, the unemployment numbers are rising. Whether looking for jobs in health care industry or as an engineer, the internet can assist in possibly finding that new position. The times have surely changed and with that change comes advancement and the ease of finding what one needs. I hope that there are more jobs available for those who are seeking them.

Travel

If you've kept up on any of my blogs you know how much I enjoy travel. As soon as we are home from one trip, I begin to plan the next. I still have a list of locations I would love to visit. The Bahamas is one and San Diego is another. Hopefully soon we can plan a trip again. Cruises are a lot of fun also. I'm sure we'll do that again some time also.

New Job!

Our oldest son recently got a new position at the University he is employed by. He was so excited to begin this new adventure. On Monday he began his new job and is loving it! He and his family feel very blessed to have received this opportunity.
