Our grand daughter Kaelyn is a talker. She is always trying to tell you something. Many times we are not sure what she is sharing, but now we can make out some of the words. She is a go getter and loves to visit.

She also enjoys dancing. Anytime there is music she is dancing.

Sit on Santa's Lap

I just love this time of year...so much joy and giving. I recently came across a site that reminded me of this even more. It was sitonsantaslap.com. Puppys

Dogs are so precious. They are always happy to greet you and such great companions. I thought these pictures were so cute. The first picture says "So Dad left when he found out about Mom and the Panda." The second pictures says "Look . . . I was thirsty man, deal with it . " How sweet are they?!

Christmas

It's amazing to me how the time does fly. Christmas is next week already. Can you believe it? Everyday that I am free, I am working on getting ready for that day. Wrapping, Baking, Shopping, decorating and more. There is so much to do. I do like to stop and thank the Lord for sending Jesus, our Lord and Savior. This is His birthday party we are preparing for. It is His special day, not ours. It should be about Him. May you all remember that in celebrating Christmas with your families this year.

Sweet & Salty

I usually make several goodies around Christmas. Chex mix is always a hit. It is the one that is salty and has pretzels and peanuts. Another that I make is a sweeter treat that has Chex in it, but also has a mixture of brown sugar, Karo, butter, soda and vanilla. Bill really likes this one. In fact, I am sure he has already gone through several handfuls. I do have to admit, it is very good and addictive.

Changing Sizes

Today we did a little shopping. Bill bought a new pair of jeans. He tried on two pair and decided that the jeans company must be changing how they size the pants. The two pair were the same size according to the tag. They were cut differently though. Bill thinks he can still wear the same size pants that he had a few years ago. I think he may need to buy a bigger size. That middle age thing creeps up on all of us. I will let him think that it is the jeans company that made an error on the tag.

Last night we had chicken pot pie for supper. It is a meal that we haven't had for awhile. It was very good and best of all it is a meal that is great left over. Pot pie is so easy to make too. Our kids weren't big fans of it, but Bill and I enjoy it. Zoe likes it too.

Winter is here!

It's official! With the sleet and six inches of snow, it now feels like winter. The temperatures have been dipping into the single digits. WOW! That seemed to come quickly. I guess it is December and when you live in the north country it is to be expected. Waking and hearing those snow plows at 4 in the morning, reminds you of what it is like outside. Today was one of those days. We're counting down to spring already, but I guess it is nice to have a white Christmas.

Moving Snow

We had quite a lot of snow the past couple days. Bill had to shovel the driveway and deck this morning. The deck had to get cleaned so Zoe could get out to the grass. It didn't take him long to get done. Our road crew has done a great job so far this year getting the street cleaned. Hopefully they will continue to do a good job throughout the winter.

Recently Bill and I went to the movie "Fireproof". We were so impressed. It was very good. We felt like everyone should give this movie a try. Throughout life we all have relationships and this movie shares ideas and principals dealing with just that. In the movie they have a book called the Love Dare. We have since purchased this book and are anxious to begin reading it. I think it should be a good source for our daily living.

Jake

We went down to visit our son Jake this weekend. We had such a great time! We helped put up his Christmas tree and went shopping. He bought a new area rug and shelving for his living room. It sure is looking nice in there. His Kitty Mylie is also in the photos. She sure is a nice kitty. While we were there we had to have lunch at the Olive Garden of course. It was very good and we had a great time visiting!

Growing Up

Our grand babies are growing up so fast. Now they are beginning to walk. Mommy and daddy will have to keep even a closer eye on them now. How quickly they can disappear. This is our grand daughter Kaelyn Sue. She is enjoying the Christmas tree.

Too Much Ice

The past couple days we had rain, snow and ice. Too much ice if you ask me. Actually ice is something we can do without on the streets and sidewalks. Jake wasn't able to drive to work today due to the icy roads in his town. They got more snow than we did also. Up to 5 inches of snow fell in eastern Iowa. I told someone this morning that spring was just around the corner. I do believe that but I know that the 'corner' is more like a big curve that will take a little while getting around.
