Supper

It is getting to be supper time. I came home and started to blog and now it's almost 7PM. I'm not sure what sounds good. It has to be quick because American Idol will be on soon. I am alone so I really don't want to make a big meal anyway. I'll just have to go out and see what's in the frig.

Sisters

It's great having a sister. She's also my twin sister. Sandy came to the Dentist I work for, today. It was good to see her. Haven't seen her since Christmas. Wish we could get together more often. She had some dental work done and we got to visit briefly, but it was still good to see her. She was heading to have supper with our parents.

Tired

It's getting late so I think I'm going to have to go crash on the couch. I've been going since 5:45 this morning. Off to work, stop home for lunch, take care of the dog, do some posting, home from work by 6PM, have supper, wash some clothes, do some more posting and now I'm ready to sleep. What a day. :)

Furnace

Living in the North country we find that our furnaces have to be up to par all of the time. Mine is working over time tonight. Certain parts of our home seem to be warmer then others. I happen to be posting in a room that really holds the heat. I think I could go and turn down the thermostat.

Weather

Winter has felt very long this season. We have had rain, ice, snow, wind and blizzards almost every week for the past couple of months. The sun hasn't shinned a lot and people seem to be down about it. We have to remember that this too will pass. It's only for a season.

Texas

What fun grandchildren are. We have a grandson that is living in Texas. We sure wish that he was closer, and someday he will be. For now, we try to see him as much as we can. The kids sent a very cute picture of him recently. I just have to share it. He's a little Texan.

Video

The technology today is good in many ways. For one, being able to see pictures and video from someone over the internet is wonderful. Our kids send us these so we can see how our grand babies are growing. We love seeing them, though in person is better. I remember when our kids were very young, people would say that they would grow up fast. They sure did. Now we are telling our kids the same thing about their own children.

Tax Time

Well, it's tax time again. Just got back from our accountant. She seemed a little nervous as she worked on our forms. It is the first year that we can no longer claim our children. They are all officially grown and on their own. Everything came out fine though. We are actually going to get a return, so that's a great thing! :)

Fog

We woke up this morning to a bit warmer weather but also dense fog. I suppose that is due to the warmer temps, although it is still below zero. It seems strange to say that below zero is warmer but compared to what we've been having for temperatures it is much better. Soon we will have spring weather which I am thankful for.

Laughing

It is so much fun to hear our little grandchildren laugh. They are developing quite the personalities. They try to mimic what they hear and see. It won't be long and they will be talking and walking. How precious they are to our family. Zoe is still a bit jealous but she is better than before. I hope they continue to laugh all through their lives.

Spaghetti Bake

We are having spaghetti bake tonight. It is basically spaghetti but after putting the ingredients together they are baked for 35 minutes or so. The flavors are blended in and it is good. In the past we would make it with very little seasoning but now put more spices in and add peppers and onions. In fact, it is almost ready to eat.

Snow Again

When will the snow end? Good question I would say. I am so very tired of winter right now. We have had some sunny days but the cold and wind have made the weather fairly miserable at times. I know that spring is coming but it seems to be very slow this year!! We just got back from a cruise and had warmth every day. Why do we live here?

Had Enough

I think I have had enough of winter. Warm weather is what I want. Do you suppose we can hurry Spring up a little bit? A long Spring and nice warm Summer would be excellent. Then we can have a beautiful Fall and either a short Winter, or none at all. Now, how do we go about getting all of that? If you figure it out, let me know.

Back To Work

Our cruise ended over a week ago. It is hard to believe you can be somewhere far away in such a short time, and then be back at home working before you know it. We had a great time. If you haven't been on a cruise I think you should consider it. There is quite a lot to do on the ship and at each port. We were on the water every day except one day at Cozumel. We would definitely like to plan another cruise sometime.

Surprised

I was surprised that our banks weren't closed for Martin Luther King day. There are many celebrations around the country, not just today but all month. The state offices are closed but the ones that are county run are open. Bill is a state employee so he got the day off. He has quite a few little jobs he is working on at home. One of them will be shoveling snow.

Trip

How often do you take a trip? I don't mean a trip to the store locally but a real trip. I know someone that goes about every other year. He takes wonderful vacations to places I have only heard about. I would love to take off and spend some time on a warm island somewhere. I guess I can think about that while it is cold here at home. It will be a vacation in my mind. I can see it now.

Big Flakes

We haven't had much snow this winter but today we are getting our share. The flakes are coming down quite gently and they are BIG. The previous snows that we've had didn't amount to much but today I would guess we have already had about two inches and could get up to four inches.
