I know that we still have some Winter weather left but I do look forward to Spring. I am not a fan of the cold and snow. Years ago when we first became grandparents, I found a neat item for the girls. A gal I work with creates and makes beaded bracelets. I have always loved the sound of a guitar. It isn't an instrument that I learned to play but have friends and relatives that do. Whether they are electric or acoustic I just love the sound. My son had a couple Fender guitars and I am most familiar with that brand. Only recently did I hear of washburn guitars. To this day I am toying with the idea of learning to play. Music takes a person right back to a moment. It can be quite moving.

My husband just hates problems with the house or car. Well, today was not exception. He noticed this morning that there was a slight water leak under the kitchen sink. When he got home from work he found that it was just a water line that needed to be tightened. He had to dry out the area under the sink which wasn't too bad. I actually thought he might react worse than he did.

Thank goodness I have clear 4g wireless service because I have been really fired up lately and love to follow the presidential election. So far, it is just the republican primaries, but I can’t get enough of the news. This is really the first election that I have really educated myself on the candidates and their point of views. I think the reason that I have been able to really educate myself this year is because of all of the political blogs, newspaper, and candidate’s websites that I have been to access from the comfort of my couch. The Republican primaries are only about a week away. It has been a roller coaster ride with different taking first place and falling down the totem poll throughout the race. I haven’t decided who I am going to vote for in the primary yet. I am going to leave it up to the day before to decide. I have some favorites, but I am going to continue to follow the news on-line, right up until it is time for me to pull the lever at the ballot box.

Our old desktop computer seems slower than ever and I am considering buying a new one. I really don't know when we bought the desktop but I imagine it has been at least five years. We did buy a laptop a year or so ago and it is much faster than the desktop. Well, I guess I have convinced myself to buy the new computer. Hope I find a good one.

The move to Seattle had been a wet one. I stood in the kitchen of my one bedroom walk up apartment in a cable knit sweater and leggings and listened to the rain pelt the large bay window to my left. I was surrounded by boxes in every room and knew I would eventually have to begin the tedious process of unpacking. For a little motivation, I contacted Direct TV seattle and scheduled my installation in two days. It had been months since I had the time to sit down and enjoy a great movie, and my chance was about to happen. I promised myself I would have the living room unpacked and decorated so I could enjoy my new place to the fullest when I collapsed into the sofa for movie night. I worked day and night since the weather was less than ideal for the rest of the week. Once I got started, I couldn’t wait to turn the cold space into a warm retreat. After the installation, I settled into my pajamas and wool socks and couldn’t help but think I should be watching Sleepless in Seattle.

How many of you enjoy having Christmas lights hanging outside? I have to say that I totally love them. My husband isn't a fan since he does the light hanging but he does it for me. Some of our neighbors have deer, elves and other characters lit up in their yards. We mainly have lights on the gutter and porch railing but I would like to add to that in the years to come.

Now don't you think this is the cutest little grandson ever? He arrived last Sunday and we have been helping at their home with the 2 older children. They are only 2 years old and 4 years old so they need help dressing and I am helping out with the cooking and serving meals. We have a new grandchild. It our 5th grandchild now. We are so excited, as are his parents. They will be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. I can’t believe what a change this new life has meant for my whole family here in Texas. We moved a few months ago because my husband took a new job and we’ve all been adjusting ever since but I’ve never seen the kids so happy or my husband so fulfilled in his work life. For Father's Day my husband got a new grill. It is a stainless steel Brinkman. It is wonderful. I am sure that you could grill about forty hamburgers on it at one time. So, instead, I decided to try and find some really simple versions of Valentine's candy to make for my family for the holiday.

Father's Day

What a great Father's Day! It turned out to be sunny and warm. One of my husbands favorite things to do is to golf. He and our son-in-law decided to go golfing. Cooler Weather

Supper is in the oven and I can tell my husband is ready to eat. He has been telling me how good the meal is smelling. When I first started working on putting together my blog, there were so many domains out there to choose from I got kind of overwhelmed. This thing was supposed to just be a hobby and I certainly wasn’t very technically inclined, so I asked Jenna to come over and help me from there. She walked me through hosting packages and the templates for design…I felt much better after our talk. I’ve been blogging now, as you guys know, for about two months and I absolutely love it! I find that it’s a great outlet for me at the end of a long day and I’m definitely looking forward to working on my writing through the site. I think my favorite part has to be when I ! see that I have a new reader/follower, and especially since I got one last week that was a total stranger! That was the highlight of this whole experience! I’m going to keep blogging as long as the technology doesn’t advance faster than I can keep up with it!

iPad Cover

The iPad cover that we have is designed for the first version and won't work with the iPad 2 because it has two cameras and needs a hole to accommodate the outer camera. That means if we buy the new one we will have to find a different cover. I have checked and there are some that I like but they are very expensive. Hopefully we can find one that works for us at a fair price.

Two step stool

For Christmas we got our youngest son some items for his home. One thing he was lacking was a two step stool. I am very short and when helping him at his place I often found that I was in need of standing taller. Either to clean, paint or help with installing new light fixtures. They are a handy item to have around. I think I need one at home also.
